This self-initiated project helped with the understanding of a completely new material and informed the way of approaching future projects. With a specially fun and hands-on process we came to understand some the intricacies of concrete pouring techniques.
The simple shapes of this tabletop clock are inspired by aesthetics within heavy industrial cast iron elements . A single cast part serves as bezel and frame for the table clock.
Its surface remind of the traditional shapes, draft angles and nervatures of poured casting processes.
A compartment is cast in the concrete part to accommodate the clock mechanism, so the clock is clean from all views.
